American Gables NewsletterJune 2007 What to look for in a House Plan - Floor plan-Look for the floor plan that fits the needs for you and your family. The floor plan should be the selling point of the house plan.
- Elevation-Everyone wants the exterior of their home to have great curb appeal to give the homeowner a look they can be proud of. The house plan of your choice should be the right mix of what you want in the floor plan and elevation.
- Working Drawings-Make sure you know what you are getting for your money. Many designers differ in the amount of detail that goes into their working drawings. Please view a sample of our working drawings.
- Years of experience on staff-When searching for the right home designer, make sure to look into how long the company has been around. You are making a big purchase, so let an experienced staff draw the dream home you have always wanted.
- Does the designer offer modifications-Always use a designer that makes modifications to your stock plans. This way you can find a stock plan that works and make necessary changes to suit your needs. Finding a stock plan and making modifications will save you the extra expense of having a custom home plan designed from scratch.
